I have no idea why, but I love Badugi. I have to make myself stop playing after awhile because I would sit there all evening.
It has been a good last 24 hours on the carbon felt. I cashed in a micro Stud High/Low tourney on Pokerstars last night. I got an early start in tourneys today on UB, playing two bounty tournaments. I made the final 3 tables in both and supplemented the prizes with 7 bounties. Definitely an enjoyable day.
The first game in the final four was a bit of a surprise to me. Michigan State is a very good team and I am a fan of Tom Izzo, but I really expected UConn to win. They have played very well this year. Of course the connection to the Big East made me pull for UConn.
Congrats to UConn Women's basketball coach Geno Auriemma. Geno won the Coach of the Year award today. His team is undefeated and seeking a 6th National Title. As a fellow Italian-American, I always pull for Geno unless his team is playing WVU.
Good luck in the Lady's Final Four Geno.

WVU advances to the Sweet 16!
Congratulations to the Mountaineers for playing great and beating Duke yesterday 73-67. WVU got a great game from 6'2" guard Joe Mazzulla, who saw a lot of action due to a great adjustment by Coach Huggins early in the game and responded by scoring 13 points, dishing out 8 assists and pulling down 11 rebounds.
The Mountaineers got big offensive nights from Joe Alexander, who had 22 points to go with his 11 rebounds,
and Alex Ruoff, who had 17 points including several big shots in the second half.

Cam Thoroughman played a lot in the second half due to foul trouble for both Da'Sean Butler and Wellington Smith, and the 6-foot-7 freshman, who had 16 rebounds all season and postponed knee surgery to stay with the team in the tournament, grabbed two consecutive boards to keep one possession alivegot 4 big points and 4 crucial rebounds.

Good Luck next Thursday versus Xavier University.

Great game for WVU
The Mountaineers played great in the first round of the NCAA tournament last night versus Arizona. Even though the Wildcats were able to keep Joe Alexander
from lighting up the scoreboard, WVU got big offensive numbers from two other starters.
Alex Ruoff
Ruoff scored a team-high 21 points for West Virginia on an eight-of-11 performance from the field, including five three pointers in seven attempts.
Da'Sean Butler
scored 19 points, pulled down seven rebounds and had three assists.
Darris Nichols also made some key three pointers and handled the Arizona pressure well. Next up for WVU is Duke. The Blue Devils made a late basket to stave off an upset bid by Belmont in the game immediately prior to the Mountaineers contest. Good luck to West Virginia in the 2nd round.

A great day for the Mountaineers
WVU beat UConn in the second round of the Big East Men's Basketball Tournament today. Joe Alexander is a beast and the whole team played really well on defense and on the boards.
I finally broke my string of cashless tournments after a few frustrating days. I limped into the money in a $5.50 NLHE MTT on FullTiltPoker. I was actually pleased with my play tonight as I was much more aggressive in the hands I played. I did have a disconnect problem that cost me several rounds of blinds and antes.
I got my money in w AQ v 66 with slightly less than ten bbs after the 66 limped in. He hit a 6 on the flop and I was toast. I finished 27 of 270 so there wasn't much of a profit and it certainly wasn't a final table, but it was nice finishing in the money again.

Great opener for the Mountaineers
WVU had a great opener, a win and no injuries vs Western Michigan. White and Slaton were sharp as ever and I was impressed with what I saw of Noel Divine. The defense was able to pressure the QB well early and that's a good sign. Look forward to another good effort this weekend.
Tough week of playing poker with a couple of really good runs mixed in: 11th ina 2025 player tourney at PokerStars and a 19th at UB.
