John Smoltz is scheduled to start tomorrow night for the Atlanta Braves when they host the Washington Nationals. Is should be a historic night for the Braves righthander. Smoltz, already the only player in baseball history to win 200 or more games and have 150 or more saves, is only four strikeouts away from 3,000 for his career. He will be only the 16th pitcher in major league history to accomplish this feat.
While Smoltz has been battling a sore shoulder this year, he has gotten off to a fantastic start. He is 3-0 in three starts, with 21 strikeouts in only 16 innings pitched. His era is 0.56. Good luck John and Go Braves!
